Rounds is a free HIIT timer app. It is designed to collect as little information about you as possible. This page explains what is and isn't collected.
What's stored on your device
The app stores the following data locally on your phone, and nowhere else:
- Your timer configurations (names, intervals, rounds, colors).
- Your workout history counts (how many workouts you've completed, whether you've seen certain in-app messages).
- Your preferences (sounds, haptics, volume, selected voice).
This data never leaves your device. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.
What's sent off your device
The app sends a small amount of information to a third-party service called Sentry when the app crashes or encounters an error. This helps me find and fix bugs. The information includes:
- A crash log (what went wrong, where in the code it happened).
- Your device model and operating system version.
- The version of the app you're running.
This data is not tied to your identity. No name, no email, no location, no advertising identifier, no workout content.
What isn't collected
For clarity, the app does not:
- Use advertising or analytics SDKs (no Google Analytics, no Facebook SDK, no ad networks).
- Track your location.
- Access your contacts, photos, or microphone.
- Sell or share any data.
- Require an account.
Permissions the app asks for
- Motion / accelerometer: used only to detect when you shake your device (to open a bug-report dialog). Motion data is never stored or sent off-device.
- Notifications (iOS, if granted): used only to show timer progress when the app is backgrounded.
Children's privacy
Rounds is not directed at children under 13, and no personal information is knowingly collected from anyone, regardless of age.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted here and the "Last updated" date at the top will be revised.
